EBT 2009 – V EUROPEAN PHOTO CONTEST
“TOURISM:PLOT OF PICTURES AND EMOTIONS IN A GLOBAL WORLD”
REGULATION
Art. 1 Purpose
E.B.T. (Ente Bilaterale Turismo, public Tourism Board) for Venice area has organised a photo contest for residents of the European Union. The theme is: “Tourism: plot of pictures and emotions in a global world”.
The purpose of the contest is to select 13 photographs for the 2010 EBT Calendar.
Art. 2 Participation
The contest is open to all adult (18 and over) amateur photographers residing in the European Union.
Art. 3 Application terms
Contestants may submit a maximum of three pictures.
Photographs can be sent via internet in digital format using the provided entry form, or by mail with colour prints.
Should photographic prints be sent by mail, a copy of payment receipt must be enclosed therewith.
In all cases it is necessary to fill in and to submit the entry form via internet.
The present ban with entry form can be downloaded from the website www.ebt.ve.it.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT THE PROTOGRAPHS SUBMITTED OR SENT BY MAIL WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO THE SENDER.
Photographs may be submitted within October 15th 2009 via:
- internet by submitting the entry form provided further down this ban
- or by mail with registered letter (the postal stamp date applies) to the following address:

Each author is personally responsible for the contents of the photographs submitted (people, things and places) and for the information provided in the entry form. In particular, contestants authorise the publication and circulation of their works exclusively for cultural and educational purposes or for non profit purposes like, as in this case, the creation of EBT 2010 Calendar, the screening the same evening of the prize-giving and the publication of the pictures on www.ebt.ve.it.
Art. 4 Entry fee
The entry fee is 10,00 Euro
Payments can be made by:
- credit card with the provided link on the entry form
- bank transfer to the EBT account at the CASSA DI RISPARMIO DI VENEZIA, IBAN IT97 B063 4502 0290 7400 0588 30T, BIC IBSPIT2V, indicating the motive for the payment as “Concorso fotografico EBT 2009”
- postal payment to the EBT postal account No. 13133301 addressed to:

30175 Marghera VE – Italy, indicating the reason for the payment as “Concorso fotografico EBT 2009”.
All charges related to the mailing of the photo-prints and to bank or postal payments, are at participants’ expense. Pictures forwarded by mail without the payment receipt, without the entry form fully filled in, and not within the foregoing deadline (the postal stamp date applies), will not be judged.
Art. 5 Photograph specifications
For the purpose of the photo screening, the longest side of the selected pictures will not exceed 30 cm in case of photo-prints, and measure 10 x 15 cm in case of electronic files (jpeg format, 300 dpi of resolution). The name of the author, the title and the year the photo was taken must be indicated on the back of the pictures. The works must have never been published or previously entered other contests. The pictures can be taken anywhere in the world. Photographs that do not comply with the above will not be examined.
Art. 6 The jury
The jury, appointed appositely for the event, will meet and select the pictures within 20/10/2009. The jury is constituted by the following members:
- Luigi Puntar, President EBT (and jury president)
- Massimo Petrella, Vice President EBT
- Chiara Pesce, head of EBT training activities
- Gian Pietro Penso, owner of Penso Sas Advertising Agency
- Piergiorgio Baroldi, chairman of board of statutory auditors EBT
- Fulvio Roiter, world famous photographer, Honorary President
The decision of the judges is final and may not be questioned.
The calendar will be presented during the winners’ award ceremony, on Tuesday 10th December 2009.
Art. 7 Prize-giving
The prize-giving and the screening of photographs chosen by the panel of judges will take place on Tuesday 10th December 2009 at Papadopoli Hotel **** in Venice.
1st prize: 800 Euro + two nights for two people in a European capital offered by Venetian Papadopoli Hotel ****.
2nd prize: 500 Euro.
3rd prize: 400 Euro
Fulvio Roiter prize: an original photo taken and autographed by the Master
The authors of EBT 2010 calendar 13 selected pictures will be presented a certificate of attendance.
The award ceremony is accessible only and exclusively upon registered invitation.
Art. 8 Notification to winners
The results of the contest will be communicated solely to the authors of those 13 pictures selected and will be published on www.ebt.ve.it within 15th November 2009. The photos will be visible on the same website for the three months following the presentation of the calendar.
Art. 9 Acceptance of ban regulation and conditions
Contestants undertake to fully accept this regulation and consent to the graphic, photo and video reproduction of the chosen works for the purpose of informational and promotional publications related to the event, with exclusion to any profit making initiatives. Contestants guarantee the originality of the pictures submitted and by taking part in the contest, implicitly undertake to accept the decision of the judges.
Art. 10 Use of personal data
On filling out the entry form, contestants are requested to consent to the use of their personal data on behalf of EBT and Penso Sas, pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 196/03 (Privacy Code). Such details may also be used to notify the authors of the results of the contest and to communicate any future initiatives.
Art. 11 Contestant restrictions
Co-worker and employees of the organising bodies may not take part in the contest.

ABOUT EBT
EBT is a non-profit organisation and was established in 1991 in accordance with the dictates of the CCNL (National Labour Contract) for Tourism on the subject of professional training. The EBT for the Venice area pursues the following aims:
- Promotion and management of initiatives that focus on professional training in tourism (EBT has scheduled and conducted 1000 courses for a total of 32000 hours of training involving 10000 participants);
- Providing financial support to seasonal workers that are unable to work during the EBT courses and cooperating to support the income of workers in the event of company restructuring;
- The analysis – through a Labour Market Observatory - of the evolution of tourism industry within the territory, with particular focus on training needs and mobility processes with regards to professional profiles in various fields;
- The management of a job offers/jobs wanted database.
